Hive Beetle Traps

They are doing great it's killing all our beetle's and we are looking good.
I would highly recommend getting a beetle trap bottom, if you need help let me know.

My interest in Bee's.

I became interested in keeping bees when I read the book 'The Secret Life of Bee's'.

I found it very interesting and started researching bees on the internet and talking to my father in law who kept bees when my husband was young. Once I spoke to him and told him I was going to start keeping bees he became interested and started keeping bees with me and my husband. It's become a family affair.

I started in 2008 with one hive and while building our house. Which was not the smartest thing I've ever done. It was too much and while I was still wanting to keep bees, the hive swarmed so I decided to wait until the house was finished before starting again.

Well we moved in the house Janurary 2009 and started again in the spring with five hives. We have 3 really strong hives and while one is doing OK one had to be requeened.

We are almost two weeks into our requeening and hope all is well.

The only problem we have now is the beetle infestation. We just installed the beetle bottoms on the new hive and will add the bottoms to all the other hives this week.

How is this working for everyone? Is there any information you can provide for getting rid of these pest???
